9 to Noon Morning Sessions

  • Denise Druce-Befriending Your BodyLet your greatest teacher (your body) speak. Learn to listen to the whispers, and you won’t have to hear to the screams. This workshop will bring in elements of yoga therapy, and help you teach using your students greatest resource, learning to trust the wisdom of their own body. We will include a body-befriending practice, followed by hands on work with partners and discussion.
  • Shelley Dawson…Living Your Yoga with Kids and Familythis workshop will help you take your yoga “off the mat” into the world, where you can create real life yoga experiences for your children and loved ones. Learn to plant the seeds that grow into a new generation of yogis living their practice.
  • Cynthia Wand…Open Your Heart To A Prana-Rich Life…Prana is the Sanskrit word for “life force”, and is the root source of all energy in the Universe. All forces of nature are manifestations of prana energy. To bring inquiry to how prana-rich and heart centered our yoga practice and our lives are, is a worthy  exploration and discovery. There is a direct correlation that when we are cultivating an open heart to access the Divine Love, we are creating a more prana-rich life, and vice versa. This workshop will be very experiential and educational of how to circulate, cultivate and control the prana. We will journey through pranayama breathing techniques, heart opening, physical asana, mudras, and chanting.  Lecture, discussion and learning ways to increase, strengthen and balance the prana
energy off our mats and into ALL areas of our lives, will also be a focus of this workshop.

12-1 pm Lunch and Networking (on your own, many nearby options or bring a lunch)

1-2pm Community Meeting (Updates to the Yoga Assets Curriculum with Denise)

2-5pm Afternoon Sessions

  • Amy Davis-Client AssessmentLearn to perform a 10 minute alignment assessment in your classes and with one-on-one clients. This is a shortened and useable version of the practicum you did in your 200 hour training.
  • Whitney Rasmussen…Pulling Together a Fabulous ClassThis workshop will help you get creative in designing classes your students will never forget. Using the Vanilla class template, we will focus on giving you tools to link poses together in new ways, and theme your classes to make them more meaningful.
  • Denise Druce-Continuing the SEVA (Selfless Service)Even after YTT is over, we would love to see you continue to give back an hour a week to a population that doesn’t have access to yoga. In this workshop we will help you figure out where to serve, and how. Our non-profit “Yoga Forward” is in place to assist you in finding students, facilities, props and other resources so you can “take yoga where it isn’t”.
