Happy New Year my friends. I am feeling so blessed and fortunate today to be where I am, and to live this life. I am full of gratitude for the people in my life and for what I am blessed to do for a living. As we toast the end of a year, and welcome a new one, it might do us all well to have a little look around our comfortable lives. Are you with me? Consider that…
If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep…you are richer than 75% of the world’s population.
If you have a little money in the bank, and some spare change in a dish somewhere…you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.
If you can drink out of your kitchen faucet whenever you wish…you are more fortunate by far than the 1.5 billion people who have no access to clean drinking water.
If you can read this, you are more blessed than the 2 billion people on our planet who cannot read at all.
“From those whom much is given, much is expected.”
2016 will be here in a few hours. When the champagne and glitter have faded, and my day-to-day problems start to weigh me down, I ask you to remind me of this. There are millions of people who would trade places with me in a heartbeat…problems and all…and they would feel like they had been given the keys to the kingdom. They would love my small house, my practical car, my conveniences, my health, and my noisy, messy life. All of it. I vow to not take it for granted for another minute.
